Born and raised in Iowa City, Iowa, Dr. Wong has always been surrounded by animals. Her love for all creatures naturally developed as her adventures in childhood often included a pet or two – dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, chipmunks, rabbits, fish, snakes and frogs. Every free moment was spent at the farm where she boarded her horses. Naturally, she knew right away she wanted to be a veterinarian and care for her beloved furry friends.
As an adult, Dr. Wong moved to Berkeley to pursue her undergraduate degree before transferring back home to Iowa to attend veterinary school at Iowa State University. Four long, cold winters later, it was an easy decision for her to move back to the Bay Area. After practicing as a small animal veterinarian in the San Mateo and San Francisco areas, Dr. Wong found the Lamorinda community to be the perfect place to raise her family while working as a veterinarian.
Dr. Wong and her husband have two children and an Australian cattle dog named Smokey. She’s recently begun training Smokey in Nose Work – a challenging and rewarding dog sport that fits Smokey’s personality perfectly.
